CREWEL

Crewel Embroidery Crewelwork is a decorative form of surface embroidery using wool and a variety of different embroidery stitches to follow a design. The technique is at least a thousand years old, it was used in the Bayeux Tapestry in Jacobean embroidery and in the Quaker tapestry. If you look very close at this wonderful piece of Victorian art you will see various animals in the background.

CHANDELIER

Called a " CAGE " chandelier , patterned after the 16th century candlelit fixture. Pictures do not do this fantastic piece of art justice, adorned with amethyst and clear prisms, to many to count. Come in and see this masterpiece of history.

SALTS

Before salt became refined, processed and free flowing as we know it today, it was necessary to serve it in a salt cellar. In the early 1800's, the master salt was placed by the host and passed from person to person.

WEDDING CHAIR

Very, very, victorian ! A chair made of bronze dore' leaves, birds, mirrors ( some enamelled ) and wax flowers. This beautiful piece was used to hold the brides flowers before and after the wedding ceremony and dates 1850 to 1870.
